This is a brief write up
about scanning for the ATS rigs.
1) Start scanning directly by clicking the DOWN + UP buttons at the same time. You will hear an "S" and scanning starts immediately from the current vfo frequency up to the scan high limit then loops back to the scan low limit freq. To stop scanning click the menu button. The default scan limits for each band are:
|
Power up |
Scan low limit |
Scan high limit |
|
80M |
3.550 |
3.570 |
|
40M |
7.030 |
7.050 |
|
30M |
10.100 |
10.120 |
| 20M | 14.050 | 14.070 |
| 17M |
18.070 |
18.160 |
|
15M |
21.050 |
21.070 |
Note: 17M and 15M for ATS-3B only.
2) From preferences menu, copy the current vfos into the scan memories (scan low limit and scan high limit) by clicking the tune down button. Copies current vfo to scan low limit and other vfo to scan high limit. !!!Make sure that current vfo is less that other vfo!!! (There is currently no check to ensure this happens. If you hear lots of beeps after starting to scan then you know they are backwards :) )
3) From preferences menu, copy the scan memories to vfo by clicking the tune up button. Copies scan low limit to current vfo and copies scan high limit to other vfo. This might be useful to temporarily store frequencies even if you don't want to use scanning.
Notes:
The scan memories are dynamic, i.e. they are reset to the defaults
upon each power cycle. To start scanning without entering "SC"
mode, hold the tune down and tune up buttons at the same time.
If
you prefer other defaults I can help you change the code to
accomodate.
